Writing on Both Sides of the Brain

Henrietta Klauser, creator and owner of Writing Resource Workshops, believes that writing and editing are two separate brain functions and that the problems students have with expressing themselves fluently in writing arise from doing both tasks simultaneously. The creativity and flow get interrupted by the inner critic. She asks you and your students to take a two-step approach to writing: First free up the creative side of the brain and then hone those words with editing skills at the proper time. She provides exercises and tips to unlease creativity AND shows students how to edit their own work.
