En savoir plus

"To those who may be encountering Louisiana for the first time through these wonderful stories-prepare to be engaged and entertained to a degree to which you are certainly unaccustomed . . . Barbara's gift for storytelling holds in the written word just as it does before a television camera."
-Phillip J. Jones, former secretary, Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism
Louisiana has long had a reputation for its hauntings. This evocative book delves into ghostly escapades and unexplained happenings at various historic sites throughout the state. In the confidential tones of a seasoned raconteur, author Barbara Sillery conjures the terror and mystery of the spectral South.
Based on the PBS documentary of the same name, The Haunting of Louisiana showcases many of the stories and behind-the-scenes incidents that would not fit into the one-hour television program.
Barbara Sillery is a television producer, writer, and co-owner of Keepsake Productions, Inc., which specializes in award-winning cultural documentaries. She has always been fascinated with death and the "ability of souls of the dead to return for the occasional visit" and continues to bring the past into the present through her tireless work. Her daughter Danielle Genter contributed photographs to this book.
Sillery's business partner and award-winning photographer, Oak Lea, was nominated for a Suncoast Regional Emmy Award for directing The Haunting of Louisiana, which also received a national Telly Award and two WorldFest awards.
