Author Charles W. Brilvitch, a graduate of Case Western Reserve University, has spent decades researching and writing on the southwestern Connecticut coast, especially the Bridgeport environs. Retained by Bridgeport's Paugussett Tribe as an official tribal historian, Brilvitch has previously published several titles on the Bridgeport region, including Walking Through History (Seaports of Black Rock and Southport) and Lithograph Views of Bridgeport 1860. Prior to his work for the Paugussett Tribe, Brilvitch held a variety of positions for the city of Bridgeport, having been a housing agency director, city environmental officer, and official city historian.
