A Little Bit of Help is the first volume in the Learning with Megan series - an illustrated educational resource designed to support young adults with learning disabilities in reading, numeracy, and everyday independence.
Written collaboratively by Megan and Simon Robinson, the book uses real-life stories, repetition, and humour to build confidence and understanding in learners who find conventional reading materials too childish or abstract. Each chapter introduces familiar daily experiences - from shopping and cooking to calendars, time, and emotions - in clear, accessible language supported by images and word lists.
Developed during the Covid lockdowns as a home-learning project, A Little Bit of Help blends educational psychology with compassionate teaching. It offers a practical, human approach to literacy and life skills - encouraging learners to read, think, and grow with confidence.

Dr Simon Robinson is a writer and former physician based in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. Trained in medicine at the University of Manchester, he has since devoted his work to exploring psychology, education, and the philosophy of mind.
