This book is a compilation of the selected papers from the 2nd International Conference on Building And Simulation (BAS2025). Professor Xingxing Zhang has multidisciplinary research experience, especially in energy systems, energy data analytics, and urban building energy modelling for sustainable transition. He is active in EU research networks, by working in national projects, Nordic research projects, JPI Urban Europe and DUT projects, H2020 projects, EU cost action and IEA tasks. He is the EU expert on ‘Scalable Cities’. He won the second place of “EU-China Dragon-star Innovation Prize” and ranks as one of the top 2% scientists since 2021.
Professor Da Yan is the Fellow of International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA). He serves as the Section Editor of International journal Energy and Buildings, Chair of China HVAC Society’s Building Simulation Committee, Chair of International Building Performance Simulation Association China Affiliation (IBPSA-China), Editorial Board Member of International Journal of Building Performance Simulation and Buildings. Professor Yan has devoted his work to the development of building performance simulation, research on quantitative description of occupant behavior, and low-carbon energy-saving technology in buildings. Prof. Yan has led more than 20 projects and published over 240 journal articles, including more than 120 SCI papers, H-index 37. Besides, he has published more than ten books and reports and acquired over ten patents and software copyrights. In 2008, he was awarded the Second Prize of National Science Progress Award.
 
Professor André Augusto has expertise in photovoltaics (PV), including, manufacturing, prototyping, integration, and sustainability. Presently, he is the Director of the Sustainable Energy Research Centre (SERC) at Dalarna University in Sweden, and he is representing Sweden at the International Energy Agency Task 12 on PV Sustainability. Before joining Dalarna University, he was leading a team at Arizona State University in the USA, working on high efficiency solar cells and modules, and he was the industry liaison for the PV Foundry, a project funded by the U.S. Department of Energy to support startups working on PV technology.
