Informationen zum Autor Multi-award-winning Israel Horovitz (b. 1939) is an American playwright, director, and actor. Widely produced internationally and in America, Horovitz has written more than 70 plays. He is best known for Line , whose revival opened off-off-Broadway at the 13th Street Repertory Theatre in 1974 and has not closed since, making it NYC's longest-running play. Other plays include Park Your Car in Harvard Yard, The Primary English Class , The Widow's Blind Date , What Strong Fences Make , and The Indian Wants the Bronx , which featured a then relatively unknown Al Pacino. Now living between France and the US, Horovitz often directs works in French. In 2009 he was made Commandeur dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. He is the most-produced American playwright in French theatre history.
