En savoir plus

A landmark collection of poems by Bambi Lake, the beloved (and bad-mouthed) icon of '70s counterculture in San Francisco

Bambi Lake, the pioneering chanteuse and trans icon, left behind a legacy shimmering with glamour, grit, and raw emotion. Her self-proclaimed greatest talent was "making people cry," and her poetry does just that, capturing the longing, heartbreak, and defiance of a life lived on the edge of queer liberation. From San Francisco's underground stages to the streets where revolution brewed, Bambi's words echo with haunting beauty and bold survival. This volume collects her most poignant and provocative work, offering readers an intimate look into a trailblazer's soul. Bambi didn't just exist-she burned bright, and her voice still demands to be heard.
