Dr. Inderdeep Singh is working as a Professor in the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, IIT Roorkee, India. He is also a Coordinator of Design Innovation Center (DIC), which is one of the 20 DICs being set up in the country by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, under the national initiative for setting up of Design Innovation Center, Open Design School and National Design Innovation Network. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (2004, Gold Medalist) and M. Tech in Production Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, (2000) and a B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur (1998, Gold Medalist). He has an academic and research experience of 20 years in various capacities. His research interests focus on composite materials, including the conceptualization and development, manufacturing of polymer and metal matrix composites, and natural fiber-based green composites. He has edited various books in different domains with reputed international publishers, published over 150 research papers in reputed journals, led numerous research projects, and holds several patents in his field. In addition to teaching, he has held various administrative positions at IIT Roorkee, including Coordinator of the E-Learning Centre (2019-present), Associate NCC Officer (2008-present), Coordinator of RETHINK, The Tinkering Lab (2017-2019), and Associate Dean of Students' Welfare (2013-2017). He has also coordinated student events like Cognizance and Thomso (2014), and managed the Orientation Program for New Entrants (2013-2016) and Production Engineering Labs (2016-2018), along with serving as Returning Officer for DAPC/DRC Student Elections (2017).
Dr. Sarbjit Singh is Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department at Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh. He holds Ph.D. in mechanical and industrial engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (2013), M.Tech. in production engineering from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana (2005), and a B.Tech. in mechanical engineering from Dr. B.R. Ambedekar Regional Engineering College, Jalandhar (National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar) (1999). He has a total of 24 years of experience in academics and research with a specialization in processing of metal matrix composites, polymer composites, micro-machining processes, newer joining processes, optimization techniques, etc. He has published over 70 research papers in international/ national journals of repute as well as conferences at national and international level, led various research projects, and holds several patents in his field. He has supervised four Ph.D. and more than 14 postgraduate theses in the area of conventional and non-traditional machining processes, metal matrix composites, etc.
