This book investigates the achievements and challenges in policy and practice of Vietnamese higher education quality assurance. It also discusses the future directions and trends for the development of higher education quality assurance in Vietnam.
The book is divided into five parts that address key issues of the 20-year development of Vietnam s quality assurance. The first part focuses on the quality assurance and higher education government in Vietnam. The second part discusses quality assurance in regional universities and national universities in Vietnam. The third part highlights stakeholders engagement in quality assurance with students, academic staff, and employers. The fourth part analyzes current trends in quality assurance including the application of ICT in quality assurance, quality assurance of online and blended learning, internationalization of quality assurance, quality assurance of joint programs, and quality assurance and employability. The final part outlines the future of Vietnam s quality assurance that focuses on research on quality assurance, quality assurance in the news, and outlook for the future of Vietnamese quality assurance.

A propos de l'auteur
Dr. Cuong Huu Nguyen
is an Associate Professor in Education, currently serving as the Director of the Quality Assurance Department and Head of the Education Research Group at Van Lang University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He earned his Master of Assessment and Evaluation from the University of Melbourne and his Ph.D. in Education from the University of New South Wales, Australia. Assoc. Prof. Nguyen has led several projects on quality and quality assurance in higher education, funded by both local and international networks and agencies. He had over a decade of experience in policymaking for quality assurance at the Vietnam Education Quality Management Agency, Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. His research interests include higher education, educational policy, leadership and management in education, assessment and evaluation, quality assurance and accreditation, human resource development in education, and foreign language teaching and learning.
Dr. Thanh Quy Nguyen
is a Professor of Sociology and currently serves as the Rector of the University of Education, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-UEd). He has rich experience in education quality assurance in general and in accreditation as one of its mechanisms in particular. He was the Director of VNU Institute for Education Quality Assurance and led the first legally established accreditation agency in Vietnam. He has a number of publications in educational research, especially in educational measurement and assessment. As a practitioner, he has been a chair for more than 30 external review panels for assessing and granting accreditation to Vietnamese universities and colleges. His main research interests are educational governance and administration, leadership and management, science education, quality assurance, assessment, and evaluation.
