Dr Tony Holohan served as Chief Medical Officer in Ireland for 14 years, but only really became known to the public during the Covid 19 pandemic. Born in Dublin and raised in Limerick, Dr Tony Holohan was educated at University College Dublin, where he met his wife, Emer Feely. During a successful career in public health he served as Chief Medical Officer in Ireland for 14 years, and is currently Adjunct Full Professor of Public Health at UCD, and a Non-Executive Board Member of the Irish Hospice Foundation. He lives in Dublin with his two children.
