The Lotus Book Type 1-74 & the Ian Walker Racing Elans

Born on 19 May 1928 Colin Chapman studied structural engineering at University College, London before joining the University of London Air Squadron. One of Chapman's innovations was popularising the monocoque chassis with the revolutionary Lotus 25 Formula One car of 1962. One of the largest works on historic Lotus Cars our much enlarged Lotus Book Type 1 to Type 74 looks in detail at the Lotus Type 25, the Lotus Type 49, the Lotus Type 72, the Lotus Elite, and the Lotus Elan. Jim Clark's Lotus Cortina and Lotus Elan also feature along with period photographs of Jim Clark, Graham Hill and Colin Chapman.
