Adam Brookes is an author whose work focuses on China and its history. His forthcoming non-fiction book, Fragile Cargo: China''s Wartime Race to Save the Treasures of the Forbidden City will be published in September 2022. Adam grew up in the UK, and was for many years a journalist with BBC News. As a foreign correspondent he was based in Indonesia, and then in China for seven years, before moving to the BBC''s Washington Bureau. Along the way he reported from many other countries, including Iraq, Afghanistan and North Korea. He is also the author of the ''Night Heron'' trilogy of spy novels. He lives in Washington DC.>
