Paula Merlán (Vigo, 1979) is a Spanish award-winning author. She graduated in Law and Education. Currently, she combines writing with teaching, her two passions. She has published more than twenty children's books, many of them translated into several languages such as Galician, Basque, Catalan, English, Italian, French and Korean. Brenda Figueroa was born in El Salvador, a land of volcanoes, coffee plantations, and exuberant nature. She discovered her artistic vocation by watching her father work on the drawing board, as well as through books, cartoons, and children's games. After graduating as a graphic designer and working in advertising, she moved to Madrid to train as an illustrator. Morderse las uñas is a sunny, imaginative story that will make the little ones understand, in a fun way, the importance of developing good habits.
Sara is an expert in nail-biting. She practices many times during the day: when she waters the plants, when she looks at the stars with her giant telescope, even when she’s in math class! Sometimes she puts so much effort into it that she bites her finger! However, no matter how much she hurts herself, Sara does not stop biting her nails. But she does it unwittingly! Sarah’s teeth and stomach don’t seem to like that habit. They would be much happier eating real food, like apples or peppers… at least they don’t scratch!
One afternoon Grandma comes home with a great idea… She always arrives with a big laugh on her face, games, and endless conversations, but this time she brings her an unexpected gift. A gift that will make Sara use the clippers once and for all!
Morderse las uñas es una historia llena de imaginación para disfrutar en familia, que hará comprender a los más pequeños, de forma divertida, la importancia de desarrollar buenos hábitos.
Sara es una experta en morderse las uñas. Practica tantas veces durante el día: cuando riega las plantas, cuando observa las estrellas con su telescopio gigante, ¡incluso en la clase de matemáticas! ¡A veces pone tanto empeño en ello que hasta se muerde un dedo! Sin embargo, por mucho daño que se haga, Sara no deja de morderse las uñas. ¡Lo hace sin pensar! Sus dientes y su estómago no están nada contentos con este nuevo hábito; ellos preferirían comer otros alimentos como las manzanas o los pimientos… ¡al menos no arañan!
Una tarde llega a casa la abuela… con una gran idea. Siempre viene cargada de risas, juegos y conversaciones infinitas, pero esta vez le trae un regalo inesperado. ¡Un regalo que hará que Sara use el cortaúñas de una vez por todas!
