Il catalogo, che si rimette adesso in luce per la terza volta, è quello medesimo, che formato prima da Stefano Marcelli, fu poi ristampato da Carlo Fea. Riordinato e ridotto con nuove cure a servire d'utile manuale, si ha in esso il presente stato (anno 1869) d'una raccolta, che in celebrità ed in numero vince di gran lunga qualsiasi altra privata, ed entra in paragone colle maggiori soltanto di quelle pubbliche.
