Per gli studiosi è una preziosa fonte di informazioni per il visitatore un'agile guida, per l'autore rappresenta la conclusione di un lungo percorso, che ha visto un ragazzo appassionato, divenire uno studioso serio, aggiornato, sempre motivato, ma ben cosciente di tutti gli aspetti - la fatica, la sorpresa, la gioia, l'orgoglio, ma anche la scelta, la rinuncia e, a volte, lo scoramento - che la ricerca archeologica implica.
