Excerpt from Labor Bulletin of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Vol. 49: May, 1907
The following table exhibits the value of goods made in 300 cities and towns having a population of or more, according to the Federal Census Of 1900. The figures are presented for the two census years 1900 and 1905, together with the increase or decrease in the latter year as com pared with former year expressed in amounts and percentages. They are arranged according to the rank as Shown by the product in the year 1905. The cities and towns in Massachusetts in order to be readily seen are printed in full-face type.
The city of Boston ranks fifth in the list and produced per cent of the total product in 1900 and the same percentage in 1905.
