Depuis cinquante ans, la France a connu une véritable révolution sexuelle. Des hommes et des femmes se sont battus pour briser le carcan des lois répressives qui, au sortir de la guerre, régissaient la sexualité et faisaient peser sur elle de nombreuses contraintes :

- contrainte procréatrice, puisque la contraception et l'avortement étaient interdits par une loi de 1920 ;

- contrainte de l'âge, puisqu'il n'était pas question de la sexualité des jeunes, placés sous l'autorité des parents jusqu'à vingt et un ans ;

- contrainte de la violence, dans la mesure où les viols n'étaient guère réprimés et le harcèlement sexuel pas dénoncé ;

- contrainte enfin de la norme hétérosexuelle.

C'est le récit de ces combats, l'histoire de cinquante ans de libérations sexuelles, qui est ici retracé.
