As a result of the 2004 national conference, Teaching by Choice: Addressing the National K-12 Teacher Shortage, this report was created to identify steps community colleges should take to enhance, expand, and sustain the scientific and mathematical knowledge of current and future K-12 teachers. You will find all of the key recommendations from that conference inside this valuable report, including those for STEM instruction and curriculum development. Recommendations are supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
