Raynaud's phenomenon is the occurrence of episodic attacks of well demarcated blanching or cyanosis of one or more digits on exposure to the cold. However, when the phenomenon is due to an underlying disease, there may be multiple episodes of painful digital ulcerations or gangrene and systemic involvement affecting the length of life.

Raynaud's Phenomenon is an auto-immune disorder which causes poor circulation in the digits and may affect up to 10% of all women.
