Anne Holt, geboren 1958 in Norwegen, arbeitete nach ihrem Jurastudium als Journalistin, Polizistin und Anwältin, bevor sie 1996 für kurze Zeit norwegische Justizministerin war. Ihre psychologischen Kriminalromane avancierten zu Bestsellern und wurden mit zahlreichen renommierten Preisen ausgezeichnet. Seit 1993 veröffentlicht sie Kriminalromane um die außergewöhnliche Kommissarin Hanne Wilhelmsen. Die Autorin lebt in Oslo.
