Description

En savoir plus

Professor Skripov obtained worldwide recognition with his monograph "Metastable liquids", published in English by Wiley & Sons.
Based upon this work and another monograph published only in Russia, this book investigates the behavior of melting line and the properties of the coexisting crystal and liquid phase of simple substances across a wide range of pressures, including metastable states of the coexisting phases. The authors derive new relations for the thermodynamic similarity for liquid-vapour phase transition, as well as describing solid-liquid, liquid-vapor and liquid-liquid phase transitions for binary systems employing the novel methodology of thermodynamic similarity.

A propos de l'auteur

Prof. Skripov, born in 1927 in Leningrad/now Russia, has received acknowledgement worldwide by his monograph on metastable liquids. For over fifty years now he has been working in the field of thermodynamics of liquids and vapours. Security considerations in the former SU have long prevented the author from receiving the deserved attention through publications. Since 2002 he fulfils the post of Deputy Director of the Institute of Thermal Physics of the Ural Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Ekaterinburg.

Dr. Faizullin, born in 1951 in Krasnousolsk, is a scholar and colleague of Prof. Skripov at the Institute of Thermal Physics of the Ural Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Ekaterinburg.

Jürn Schmelzer - author of about 170 scientific publications and 90 presentations at conferences - is researcher in the Max-Planck-group at the University of Rostock, and leading research associate at the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics of the Joint Institute of Nuclear Research of Dubna.
