Informationen zum Autor Donald de Carle was a Fellow and Medallist of the British Horological Institute and Freeman of the City of London by virtue of being a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers. He contributed to the Encyclopaedia Britannica and was the author of many horological works: Clock & Watch Repairing, Complicated Watches & their Repair, Practical Watch Repairing, Practical Clock Repairing, Watch and Clock Encyclopaedia, Practical Watch Adjusting and Springing. Donald de Carle died in 1989. Klappentext The repair of clocks calls for a variety of skills and crafts, few of which can be ''picked up'' by bench work alone. In the horological trade, it is technical practice that the ''prentice hand'' is first tried out on clocks, before attempting repair work on watches.
