Zambian Railway Industry Developments - Challenges and Prospects

The railway industry remains one of the most important sectors in any country's economy. It provides a cheap alternative for both passenger and goods transportation and therefore, a well functioning railway network is a prerequisite to a country's economic prosperity. This book provides a situational analysis of railway lines management in southern Africa and Zambia in particular. The book has four chapters. Chapter one gives a brief background of the work. Chapter two gives an overview of Zambia's railway industry. Chapter three discusses global railway industry developments. Chapter four concludes the work by offering suggestions on how to improve the railway industry in Zambia.

Lubinda Haabazoka has a PhD in Banking from Rostov State Economics University, Rostov on Don, Russia. He has previously worked as an intern at Sberbank in Russia. He is currently Head of the Accounting and Finance Department in the School of Business at the Copperbelt University, Kitwe, Zambia.
