• The Taming of Count Gabba

  Count Gabba is Tobias Gaberthuel, a folk musician with an affinity to Americana and country and street poet with a penchant for melancholy who outgrew rock?n?roll. In his songs he raises the question of human nature. Count Gabba is looking for love, its meaning and exasperating nonsense but even thinking about the abyss of hedonism the answers he finds remain shallow.
  
  The record contains 11 episodes and is a compact work of urgent profundity. Count Gabba knows about all excuses: nothing counts, nothing is reliable. Today never comes back.
  
  'Burn Barcelona', 'Eyes like Guns' or 'The Deeper We Fall' sound unforgiving and accusing, 'Sweet Senorita' and 'Let Her Grow' remind us of times of intimacy and togetherness. 'Headphones' is a tribute to the best: Bob Dylan and Lemmy Kilmister and bows to the heroes The Ramones and Johnny Cash. 'The Greatest Show Ever' is an ode to his recently deceased friend and mentor Thomas Hösli.
