Alberto González Rubio (1923 - 1981), the famous heartthrob actor of Cuban Radio and Television, first became prominent in radio soap operas where his deep, well-modulated voice was an instant hit especially among the female audience. Owner of an uncommon artistic talent, González Rubio embraced the difficult art of poetry from an early age and quickly earned his place of honor among the best reciters in Cuba. Cultivating all genres of poetry, he specialized in romantic verse and had been, for years, the interpreter par excellence of one of the best romantic poets in America, Jose Ángel Buesa.
