    PAMINT
Early morning somewhere in the Romanian countryside. A majestic Gheorghe Zamfir flute melody accompanies a sheep herd. Wind blows bringing closer human laments. Someone plays wooden drums. I don’t understand but it is so very much magic. I cannot hide no more. I stand up and walk. My legs are driven by my curiosity. I want to fully feel and understand what is going on around me. The scream is so loud. The percussionist increases the rhythm and, …, so many screams. A wolf pack moves in the herds direction. The shepherd is in rage. Not again. He screams, approaches the wolf pack, stops and fixes the eyes of its leader. A magic moment. The sheep calm down, the wolves bend their heads to the ground as if afraid of the shepherd. Silence.

    DACIA HIPERBOREANA
Shepherd and his herd move slowly in the foggy morning. The wolf pack retreats to where it came from. The Voice. Comfortable and content at first. Suddenly it gets louder and more intense. The shepherd is alone with the sheep. The sky is obscured by heavy clouds. It gets dark. His scream is desperate. As if trying to get back some of the light that is no more. Sometimes a sun ray finds its way through the floating water but finally it gets dark again. He has no power over the nature. He accepts and is clam again. The shepherd.

    UMBRA
The soft sound of a horn and some wooden tones are accompanied by mystic voices. The Voice speaks briefly then gives way to Zamfir’s pan flute. Thousands and thousands of sheep run from left to the right. The huge herd is gone. Silence.

    ORHIUL INIMI
Shepherd and herd walk through the landscape. Some animals are nervous. He speaks to them in his calm voice and goes on. The wolf pack has killed a sheep, the shepherd is out of his mind and rushes towards the pack. He is a big man. He stands his ground and firmly stares at the beasts. They stop tearing at the flesh. He screams at them. Have I noticed some fear in the wolves ? they no longer look dangerous. They lick the carcass. The shepherd knows there is no hope and walks back to the herd leaving the pack behind. They feast. He curses the wolves while taking care of his sheep. He calmly talks to his animals but his inner voices screams.

    CHEI DE ROUA
Classic guitar introduces this song just like Orhiul Inimi as well. The shepherd sees people passing by and tells them what has happened to one of his sheep. He has not yet calmed down and so one of the listeners tries to explain that there is little to be done against nature. That is the normal way it has been, is and always will be. The pack approaches again. The shepherd screams at the wolves. The listener talks to the pack standing in front of the sheep herd. The beasts stop barking unsure of what to do next. The shepherd now screams while the listener talks. The sheep are calm. The pack retreats.

    TARA DE DINCOLO DE NEGURA
It is calm again but not for very much longer. One wolf attacks the shepherd. The fight is brief. The shepherd hits the wolf with a heavy wooden stick breaking its skull. He screams at the rest of the pack. The wolves slowly get near their dead brother. They show their anger but don’t attack.

    JAR
A new morning begins. The shepherd sees eagles up in the sky. The land somewhere far away. The dead wolf. He carries on with his herd.

    ARBORELE LUMI
The wild pack seeks revenge. the shepherd does all he can to defend his herd. He is alone. The wolves show no mercy and attack him. He screams to his herd. “Walk! Go! Don’t stop! I’ll take care of the wolves! Run for your lifes!”. He gets weaker. Now all the wolves are over the dying shepherd. He speaks to the pack. The leading wolf replies to him. “that’s life”. The agonising shepherd screams until he no longer can. He is dead.

    INTOARCEREA AMURGULUI
The sheep herd is moving while the wolves stay with the dead shepherd. They look but don’t move. A voice reminds us that no one will ever take control over nature. It sometimes is cruel but there is no reason to stop it. A new shepherd will lead the sheep. Or are the sheep leading the shepherd? Are the sheep allied to the wolves? Why do sheep need a human being? We humans have to live and respect mother earth. To try to control her is deadly.
