  You are now ready to read Artaud's Heliogabalus after having read other works of his, this will enhance your enjoyment of the cd so many more times:: Zorn calls in some extra handpower from Saft, Mori and a Chorus to help out the previous trio tackle this opera. Patton's solo his one of his best technical performances ever!

  also schliesse mich nicht ganz der vorredner meinung an... also das album hat schon herausragende momente (der ganze erste track z.b.), doch werde ich das gefühl nicht los, dass da mehr drinn gelegen hätte... und auch stört mich etwas, das zorn scheinbar mit gewalt seine konzepte hier reindrücken musste (und sich dadurch auch wiederholt)... wo astronome einfach nur ein herausragendes gesammtwerk darstellte, zerstört er hier diese innere kontinuität des albums wieder... es erinnert deshalb nicht nur an painkiller sondern auch an nacked city (wenn auch härter) und seine anderen stückel werke wie z.b. speziell der track hath-arob aus dem masada song cycle... trotz der geäusserten kritik gefällt mir das album.... deshalb kriegt es auch ein verdientes sehr gut... doch scheint für zorn damit dieses als trio begonnene projekt beendet... oder darf man wohl doch auf eine fortsetzung hoffen?

  ...on zorn's moonchild project, and what a spin it is!!!
  To me, this is by far the most exciting of the 3 recorsds out yet.
  With the addition of jamie saft on organ, ikue mori on electronics and a female choir you get a bandwith youi maybe haven't heard since zorn's painkiller days. although i must say that some moments on this record remind of his "music for children" series.
  All in all, this is more than you could've wished for!!!
