  After you have digested Artaud's Theater and it's Double you will have come across some writings that had actually intended to be set to Edgar Varèse's sounds but never happened. Zorn tries to make up for this sad cultural gap in a Supreme way! He creates here a portable opera that could be set in Artaud's theater of Cruelty theories. If you close your eyes the performance is ready to take place in your imagination...

  astronome ist sowas wie ne fortsetzung von moonchild... wieder alle songs wurden von john zorn komponiert und geleitet. die band wie vormals bei moonchild besteht aus mike patton (voice), trevor dunn (bass) und joey baron (drums). schon moonchild hat mir gefallen, aber dieses hier gefällt mir noch besser! mir scheint, was in moonchild angedeutet wird, kommt hier zur vollendung... alles wirkt aus einem guss, dabei sehr dynamisch und abwechslungsreich... wer moonchild mochte, wird auch astronome mögen oder gar lieben...
