When King Crimson set off on its 1974 US tour to support the recently released “Starless and Bible Black” album, nobody suspected that the two-part, two month, stint was to be the band’s final tour of that decade, nor that it would achieve such legendary status in the intervening decades, the subject of numerous live bootlegged and official issued recordings. The Olympic Studios recordings in London that immediately followed the final concert produced “Red”, an album as highly regarded as the band’s debut “in the Court of The Crimson King” and probably even more influential on succeeding generations of musicians.

This boxed set contains 20 CDs of live material – the majority mixed from multi-track tape or the band’s stereo soundboard cassettes – and a new stereo mix of “Red”, also on CD. An Audio DVD presents the new mix of “Red” and the various mixes of the Asbury Park concert, the “USA” album, in high-resolution stereo. Two Blu-Ray discs feature the five complete concerts captured on multi-track tape, presented in 24/192 LPCM stereo audio, drawn directly from the original two-track stereo Dolby SR half-inch mixdown tapes. “Red” completes the Blu-Ray presentation, appearing in original stereo, new stereo and 5.1 multi-channel mixes.
