Über den Autor / die Autorin
Ulrich Beck wurde 1944 in Stolp in Hinterpommern geboren. Nach seinem Studium der Soziologie, Philosophie, Psychologie und Politikwissenschaft in München promovierte er dort im Jahr 1972. Sieben Jahre später wurde er im Fach Soziologie habilitiert. Sein wissenschaftliches Hauptinteresse galt dem Grundlagenwandel moderner Gesellschaften, insbesondere im Zeichen der Globalisierung. Er beschäftigte sich mit den daraus erwachsenden theoretischen, empirischen und methodologischen Fragen sowie den Konsequenzen und Risiken, die dieser Wandel für Wirtschaft, Politik, Kultur und Massenmedien nach sich zieht.§Seit 1980 war Ulrich Beck Herausgeber der Zeitschrift "Soziale Welt". Ihm wurden mehrere Ehrendoktorwürden europäischer Universitäten und zahlreiche Preise verliehen. Ulrich Beck verstarb im Januar 2015.
Johannes Willms, geboren 1948, war von 1988 bis 1992 Leiter der Redaktion "aspekte" beim ZDF und ist jetzt Kulturkorrespondent der "Süddeutschen Zeitung" in Paris. Er hat vielbeachtete Werke zur deutschen und französischen Geschichte vorgelegt.
