Bringing together scholars from the exact sciences as well as those from the humanities and social sciences, this collection of papers asks the contributors to explain how they approach their research and seeks to find common ground between both groups. Henri Eisendrath is a former professor of physics at the Free University of Brussels and was dean of the faculty of sciences from 1992 to 1997. He is author or coauthor of more than 80 papers in international journals, editor or coeditor of more than 10 books, and the curator of two public scientific exhibitions. Jean Paul Van Bendegem is a professor of philosophy at the Free University of Brussels, the director of the Center for Logic and Philosophy of Science, and the president of the National Center for Research in Logic, in Belgium. He is the editor of the journal Logique et Analyse and the coeditor of Perspectives on Mathematical Practices.
