The world is currently seized by the issue of climate change. As an earth scientist and researcher, I am keenly aware of the scientific consensus that attributes climate warming to human activities, particularly the combustion of fossil fuels. This consensus, heavily relied upon by the Intergovernmental
Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), forms a crucial foundation in our understanding of the causes and potential consequences of climate change. However, it is important to recognize that this consensus, like any other, is not static and is subject to revision as new evidence emerges and scientific inquiry progresses. In my book, "Climate Conundrum, The Agendas and Forces at Play," I embark on a nuanced exploration of the politics and science underlying climate change. Leveraging my background as an earth scientist and researcher, I delve into the challenges faced in reaching a consensus on the causes of climate change. I also examine the impact of policies such as carbon pricing, green deals, and green finance, and shed light on the motivations driving the actions of corporations and governments. Through this book, I aim to provide valuable insights into the intricate issue of climate change. I emphasize the significance of open debates, constructive criticism, and thorough scientific research. It is crucial not to employ the consensus model as a means to stifle legitimate scientific inquiry; rather, we should foster an environment of open dialogue and constructive criticism.
Climate Conundrum - The Agendas and Forces at Play I believe this book is essential reading for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding climate change, as well as the politics and policies intertwined with it. My unique perspective as an earth scientist and researcher
contributes a valuable voice to the ongoing conversation about climate change. It underscores the urgent need for decisive action to address this critical issue, and highlights the importance of informed discussions and evidence-based solutions.
