My life as bitter tea dreg is a bucket beneath a torn ceiling of a lost teenage. When the storm nears, the bucket fills, little by little. It overflows with sorrow, with confusion and a couple million unanswered questions. Like dregs of tea, you feel left out, unwanted. So full of feelings, that you feel hollow. Thus, this poetry collection intends to understand the complex humans and their grief. Arya's debut clings on to the silhouette of every teenage contradiction and hope. For big dreams, small dreams and trivial ones too. This anthology explores an itchy underside of dependency and the past versions of us. And the person who we tearfully wish we were.
Über den Autor / die Autorin
Arya Mohapatra loves romanticising melancholy. The gut-wrenching and grotesque aspects of a certain loneliness and incompetency is her ultimate poetry material. Existing in a very horrifying level of self-awareness, 14-year-old Arya functions for her unflinching ability debate on literally anything. She finds herself in her oil paints, her every-genre-known-to-mankind book addiction and philosophy/psychology/poetry videos.
She thrives for her diabolically diverse Spotify playlists and sometimes just 'Chase Atlantic' on repeat. Cat-obsessed Arya who doesn't own a cat, lives in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. She wishes to be a fantasy author someday.
