I hope that this book will be useful to Antillean bird specialists, as it deals with aspects related to the study of birds from the point of view of Antillean ornithologists. The book begins with an overview of the diversity and biogeography of the birds of the world, the Neotropical Kingdom and the Antilles, followed by a discussion of the threats facing birds.Another part of the text is devoted to bird monitoring, what it consists of, how to organize and plan this activity. Also, the different methods of censusing or counting birds.Twelve percent (1,186) of the world's bird species are at risk of becoming extinct within the next 100 years, 99 percent of which are at risk from human actions.
