To what extent can traditional values help us to emerge from underdevelopment and achieve economic, social and moral progress? How can we resolve the various crises (identity, moral, educational, social and even humanitarian) through labana practiced according to the rules of the art in a cosmopolitan and multicultural universe? What are the criticisms of labana, and how can it be used for better social integration, without undermining human dignity, the freedoms of renegades and foreigners, or harming the ideal of peace and national integrity? This booklet attempts to provide answers to these thorny questions. It is the result of a thoughtful approach that unapologetically questions habits and customs, and the collective conscience, in order to produce a naked truth tarnished by the alternative truths of disreputable men. The issue of these cultural practices continues to arouse lively passions, excesses and outbursts, raising a stormy debate that divides the vox populi into two diametrically opposed groups.

Augustin BAMHIRAM, known as BAMBA TAPAMDI MINKYA, was born in 1982 in Cameroon. He is a high school teacher, a committed writer, and a defender of human rights and freedoms. He is concurrently preparing a Doctorate/Ph.D. thesis in French Linguistics at the UN and a Master of Arts in Translation at ASTI, University of Buea.
