Work is a right and a duty for everyone, regardless of race, sex, marital status, religion or nationality. It is a moral obligation for all those who are not prevented from doing so by age or medical incapacity. This is the spirit of article 2 of the Labor Code.It follows from the above provision that nationality is not an inescapable limitation on access to work or the right to work in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Foreigners may work in the Democratic Republic of Congo, subject to certain legislative and regulatory restrictions.The aim of this first edition is to provide the public with general information on the conditions of employment for expatriates in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Nascido em Kinshasa, em 12 de dezembro de 1986, o Sr. Katuala TSHIBANGU é consultor jurídico da Federação das Empresas do Congo e, desde julho de 2020, prestou juramento como juiz assessor do Tribunal do Trabalho de Kinshasa/Gombe. Além dessas duas funções principais, o autor exerce várias outras funções.
