This book presents a collection of expert studies on Chicano writer Tino Villanueva's oeuvre, from his first poetry collection Hay Otra Voz Poems 1968-1971 (1972) to his most recent publication So Spoke Penelope (2013). Villanueva's work represents his myriad of life experience starting from migrant origins to joining the ranks of American, Latin American, and Spanish writers as he became established in the poetic world. Contributions tackle his many and variegated works, representing his unprecedented creativity over long periods of time. In so doing, the collection unearths new terrain in Villanueva's poetics, revealing an author in constant movement as a critic and witness of his own times and socio-cultural surroundings.
