This book presents RAISE-2024 proceedings which cover all the recent advances happening in the Structural Engineering towards the sustainable development and technology among different research areas of Civil Engineering. The main objective of this book is to disseminate the recent developments in Structural Engineering and related interdisciplinary research areas. This book will cover three main themes including, bridge engineering, tall concrete structures and interdisciplinary research areas, emphasizing their significant applications in sustainable Environment, seismic and disaster mitigation and long durable concrete structures.

Dr. B. Kondraivendhan is currently an associate professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat. He obtained his B.E. (Civil) from Alagappa Chettiyar Government College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikudi, and M.E. (Structural Engineering) from Annamalai University, Chidambaram, and Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, New Delhi. He was a visiting student at the University of Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom (UK). He also has post-doctoral experience from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. His major areas of research interest include rebar corrosion, microstructure modelling, alternative binders in concrete preparation, analysis and design of high-rise buildings and bridges, and repair and rehabilitation of concrete structures. He has published more than 100 papers in reputed international journals and conference proceedings.

Dr. S. A. Vasanwala is currently Professor at Department of Civil Engineering, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT). Surat. He obtained his B.E. (Civil) and M.E. (Structural Engineering) and Ph.D. from Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology. Surat. His major area of research interest includes Computer aided Structural Analysis, Engineering Mechanics, Structural Analysis, Computer application in Civil Engineering, Neural Network application in Structural Engineering and Earthquake resistance design of Structure. He has published more than 150 papers in respected international journals and conferences. He was former Dean (Planning & Development) and Head of the Department of Applied Mechanics.

Dr. Indrajit Patel is the principal and professor at Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat. He has significant research, academic, and administrative experience of over 35 years. He obtained a doctorate from SVNIT, Surat, and Master’s in Structural Engineering and B.E. in Civil Engineering from Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat. He has extensive teaching experience at different educational levels and in different domains ranging from materials to material science and technology, process to product, and analysis to design. His main areas of expertise include structure mechanics, analysis and design of structures, sustainable material and technology, earthquake engineering, advanced concrete technology, and many more. He has published more than 150 papers in reputed national journals and conference proceedings.

 

Ir. Dr. U. Johnson Alengaram is the director of the Centre for Innovative Construction Technology (CICT), a research centre under the Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is listed among the top 2% of the world’s scientists by Stanford University through Elsevier Data Repository. He is also the recipient of outstanding achievement awards in most of the institutions he served. He has been serving as a research fund evaluator of different countries including South American, Asian, and European countries. He obtained his B.E. (Civil) from Madras University, and M.E. (Structural Engineering) from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, and Ph.D. from University Malaya (UM). He is also is a recognized external examiner for doctoral theses and evaluator for promotional exercises.
