The aim of this research was to verify the general framework for coordinating the use of airspace in a Joint Theatre of Operations, in the Military Operations carried out by the Brazilian Ministry of Defence in 2006 and 2007. Initially, it sought to identify the structure of the process for coordinating the use of airspace in a Joint TO, as presented in the Air Command's Manual for Conducting Air Operations (MCOA). It then analysed the routine measures employed (processes) to establish airspace use coordination. It highlighted the mapping and modelling of the organisational processes involved in coordinating the use of airspace, which are essential for establishing interoperability and preventing fratricide. The work is classified as descriptive research that is close to exploratory. In this context, it also researched the doctrines used by the Airspace User Units of the Navy and the Brazilian Army, as well as analysing the final reports of Operations PAMPA 2006 and CHARRUA 2007.
