Dawn M. Barclay (who writes fiction as D.M. Barr) has been writing in the travel field for decades, first as a travel trade journalist and later as a book author. She is the 2023 Lowell Thomas Gold-award-winning author of the autism travel bible,¿Traveling Different: Vacation Strategies for Parents of the Anxious, the Inflexible, and the Neurodiverse¿(Rowman & Littlefield, 2022). Dawn also won the First Prize-Other Writing award from the Society of Professional Journalists in 1992 for a story on travel law. Vacations Can Be Murder, her multi-volume true crime travel series with Level Best Books, combines the two things she loves best (after chocolate and dogs): travel and crime. Along with being an author of psychological suspense, she is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers, the¿American¿Society of Journalists and Authors, the New York Travel Writers Association, and several mystery writers organizations.
