This volume provides both practicing and aspiring Language Program Administrators with knowledge about the research and theory that underpin key topics in educational leadership, as well as practical guidance for the day-to-day management of language programs, including budgets, personnel, decision making, strategic planning, advocacy, and digital technologies. The volume brings together 46 authors and contributors with a vast array of experiences as administrators of English language teaching programs all over the world-in Asia; Australia; Europe; the Middle East; New Zealand; North, Central, and South America; South Africa; Turkey; and the United Kingdom.
As the need for more qualified administrators and leaders has increased, more teacher education programs have added formal courses on leadership and program administration to their offerings. Über den Autor / die Autorin
MaryAnn Christison is a professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Utah, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in applied linguistics and mentors graduate students. She founded an English language program at Snow College and was the Director for 20 years. Christison received TESOL's Alatis Award for distinguished service, as well as a 50@50 Award, and 25 English language specialist grants from the U.S. Department of State.
Fredricka L. Stoller is Professor Emerita at Northern Arizona University (NAU), where she taught in the applied linguistics and TESL programs. She founded NAU's Program in Intensive English and served as its Director for 10 years. She was awarded three Fulbright senior-scholar awards for Turkey (2002-03), Timor Leste (2014), and Vietnam (2018). Stoller has trained language teachers and language program administrators in 30+ countries.
