The second book in the trilogy entitled The Cycle of the Garden, The Wellspring of Glances is the sequel - but not the second part - of The Gardener. Already in the prologue, Grian warns that it did not seem appropriate to make a second part of his international bestseller, but that, beyond the character of the gardener, the garden continued to exist as a place of peace and learning, as a setting for teachings that have their origin in Life itself, whose most beautiful expression is the garden. Thus, without a gardener but with a garden, an apprentice and new characters, The Wellspring of Glances takes us back to the wisdom of simplicity, to the reading of the great book of the wise: nature. But this time without the masterly discourse of the gardener, but through the reflections and images with which the narration envelops us, through the tenderness, humor, peace and surprise that run through the paths of the garden. Grian (Grian A. Cutanda) is, in addition to writing 18 books of fiction and essays, a social science researcher, psychologist and PhD in Social Education, translator and social and climate activist, and has helped to launch and develop social movements such as Extinction Rebellion or Debt for Climate globally. His research work has resulted in an ambitious project, The Earth Stories Collection, a global bank of myths, legends and tales from around the world capable of conveying a socially and ecologically just worldview, founded on the values of the Earth Charter.
