This is a charming, rhyming tale about a brave knight named Sir K, written by Carol and Richard Young, and illustrated by Neovikova Anastasia. The story is dedicated in loving memory of the author's mother, a lover of writing, rhyming, and illustrating. The tale is set in an ancient era of bold castles, kings, queens, and lords, where Sir K, a brave, charming knight, faces a unique challenge.Sir K is a valiant knight known for his bravery and chivalry.
Despite his fearless demeanor, he stammers and stutters whenever he encounters words containing the sound "kn".
These words cause him to quiver and quake, a battle he struggles to win.
His fear even extends to his own title as a 'knight', causing him to simply go by 'K'.
The king encourages Sir K to confront his fears and grow stronger.
Challenged by the king, Sir K takes the leap and bravely pronounces the 'kn' sound without fear.
Sir K conquers his fear and proudly pronounces his name and other 'kn' words without any trouble, symbolizing his growth and courage.

This engaging narrative teaches the readers about the 'kn' digraph in the English language, providing a fun and educational experience. The authors, Carol and Richard Young, bring their rich experience in education, library science, and newspaper editing to create this delightful tale. The story encourages readers to face their fears, take a chance, and grow stronger, just like Sir K.

Über den Autor / die Autorin

Carol Young has never seen herself as anything other than an ordinary person. From an unassuming suburban childhood to training as a stylist in a prestigious salon and eventually owning her own salons, not only in her hometown of Edinburgh but also in the Shetland Isles her path seemed straightforward.

After marrying and moving, children in tow, she found herself uprooted and became an island girl a fish out of water! All the while, she quietly wondered about her own backstory. Occasional revelations along the way sparked questions that remained unanswered.

It wasn t until retirement that her quest for the truth truly began, bringing with it the realization that her life had been much, much more than just ordinary.
