Carol Young has never seen herself as anything other than an ordinary person. From an unassuming suburban childhood to training as a stylist in a prestigious salon and eventually owning her own salons, not only in her hometown of Edinburgh but also in the Shetland Isles her path seemed straightforward.
After marrying and moving, children in tow, she found herself uprooted and became an island girl a fish out of water! All the while, she quietly wondered about her own backstory. Occasional revelations along the way sparked questions that remained unanswered.
It wasn t until retirement that her quest for the truth truly began, bringing with it the realization that her life had been much, much more than just ordinary.
