The present study is intended to generate the baseline information which regards Sedimentological aspects of one of the major coastal systems of Tamilnadu; "The Gulf of Mannar" which is located on the southeast coast of India. The present study enfolds information on the environment of deposition and lateral variation in texture and mineralogy with respect to various physicochemical processes operating in the system. The whole work has been an overall summary of the whole study and the salient feature of the conclusions drawn from the results thereof. The bibliography cited is furnished towards the end of this book.
