Die Bedeutung der Nordgrenze hat sich in eine Vielzahl von Richtungen und Bedeutungen verzweigt, die heute unmöglich zu erfassen sind. Ihre metaphorischen Falten haben sich bis ins Unendliche erweitert und werden sich zweifellos im Laufe dieses Jahrhunderts weiter entfalten. Wenn wir den Begriff mit dem Suffix "Norden" einschränken, dann deshalb, weil die Grenze, auf die sich dieser Band beschränkt, ungeachtet der Komplexität des Begriffs "Grenze" und seiner Synonyme in einem bestimmten Territorium angesiedelt ist, ohne dass dies die mögliche begriffliche Reichweite über die "Nordgrenze" hinaus einschränkt. Dieses Buch ist eine territoriale Erkundung, eine Kartographie eines Raumes, der nicht nur in seiner geographischen, sondern auch in seiner kulturellen Bedeutung geschichtet ist und der dem Begriff eine spezifische Bedeutung verleiht. Eine Kartographie - der von den Autoren dieses Bandes am häufigsten verwendete Begriff -, eine Archäologie und vor allem ein Prozess der Offenbarung zwischen den verschiedenen Texten und Textarten, die dieses Palimpsest bilden. Zusammenfassung
The term Northern Border has split into multiple meanings and approaches, which are now impossible to cover; its metaphorical folds and layers have heightened ad infinitum, and without a doubt will continue to do so throughout this century. Regardless of the complexed concept of border and its synonyms, when I define the term by using the suffix “Northern”, I intend to state that the border that is circumscribed within this work is framed by a specific territory, though that does not limit its possible conceptual definitions and scopes that might exceed the “Northern border”. This book is in itself a field of exploration, a cartography of a nationalized area, that in addition to its geographical significance, provides a concrete meaning to the concept that certainly goes beyond the geographical. Cartography, as the most sought term by the essayists of this volume, is an archeology; it is, more importantly, a revelation process between the several texts and types of texts that compose this palimpsest. VLADIMIR GUERRERO HEREDIA is a full-time tenure professor at the School of Philosophy and Letters of the Autonomous University of Chihuahua (Mexico) in the fields of Literary Theory, Literary Criticism, and Cultural and Aesthetics Criticism. He is a Fellow of the Directive Counsel at the Ibero-American Research Center of Germersheim-Leipzig (CIIAG-L) and Co-Director of the collection “Theory and Critic of Culture and Literature (TCCL, Olms Verlag) in Germany. Member and director of the Research Team “Literature and Culture in the North of Mexico” at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua; he is also a member of the “International Research Team on Violence” of the School of Humanities at Playa Ancha University, Valparaiso Chile. Member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (SNI) Level I, granted by the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT). His research is focalized on the culture of Chihuahua and the north of Mexico; additionally, he specializes in studies on violence and drug related violence of the contemporary Mexico.
MÓNICA TORRES TORIJA holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish Literature at the Monterrey Institute of Technology. She has a Master’s degree in Higher Education by the Autonomous University of Chihuahua; holds a PhD in Cultural Studies at the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon with a research focus on Geo-poetics in the cartographic narrative of Jesus Gardea. She has completed the Advance Course in Hispanic Philology (ICI-OFINES) in Madrid, and the CSIC in Malaga. She has been a full-time tenure professor at the School of Spanish Literature and the Graduate School of Humanities at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua for 28 years.
FELIPE ARMANDO SAAVEDRA MONTOYA is a doctoral student in Modern Literature at the IBERO University in Santa Fe, Mexico City; he has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish Literature and a Master’s degree in Higher Education by the Autonomous University of Chihuahua. He is a theater director, actor, playwright, and cultural promoter. His research fields are focused on social and political violence, theatrics and contemporary drama; also, full time tenure professor at the School of Philosophy and Letters of the Autonomous University of Chihuahua. He has published the books “La cena de los dramaturgos” (A playwrights’ supper) in 2011, and “Máscara de Psique” (Mask for Psyche) in 2015. Member of the Research Team “Literature and Culture in the North of Mexico” at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua, and of the “International Research Team on Violence” of the School of Humanities at Playa Ancha University, Valparaiso Chile.
