Climate change, and underlying issues such as the energy transition and the technological revolution, are threatening the fabric of our societies, the way we work, transport and much more; indeed, we are in one of the most disruptive, challenging and impactful periods in years, manifesting itself in multiple controversies, public discontent, protests and multiple promises of resolution - and meager tangible results. This book, based on the author's international experiences advising governments, businesses and civil society, highlights the limitations of current approaches and proposes a more holistic approach that better matches social demands, economic incentives and governance mechanisms in a way that responds more effectively and realistically to the challenge of moving away from policies aimed at controlling emissions-generating investment requirements to more people-centered approaches that respond to their legitimate concerns about energy security, affordability and sustainability.
