Les voies et agglomérations romaines au coeur des Balkans
Cet ouvrage consacré aux agglomérations et aux communications sur le territoire de la Serbie contemporaine, entre le Ier et VIe s. p.C., a été rédigé dans l'intention de rassembler en un texte unique les informations historiques, littéraires, épigraphiques et archéologiques relatives à ce vaste espace stratégiquement important. Il s'adresse aussi bien aux spécialistes, historiens et archéologues, qu'au grand public. Il s'agit, en fait, d'un essai de caractérisation des étapes du développement des agglomérations et des communications dans cette partie de l'Empire, dont l'histoire est marquée par des changements historiques et sociaux majeurs.
This book is devoted to Roman settlements and communication lines on the territory of contemporary Serbia, between the ist and 6th century A.D. It was written with the intention to bring together, in a single text, the large amount of historical, literary, epigraphic and archaeological data related to this vast and strategically important territory. This volume is dedicated to specialists, historians and archaeologists as well as to the général public. It is, in fact, an attempt to illustrate the stages of development of settlements and roads in this part of the Empire, whose history is marked by major historical and social changes.
