Set Free is dedicated to the countless young readers and writers in the UK and around the globe, many of whom have faced mental and physical challenges since the global pandemic hit in 2021 and locked down societies around the world. In particular, these stories reflect the experiences of students who suddenly found themselves kept at home and unable to connect physically with other students except through cyberspace. Even throughout the writing process of this anthology, uncertainties remain; however, the resilience of this generation is a testament to the strength of the human character and the stories based around the theme of breaking free could not be more apt for 2022 and beyond.

The Priory School is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form located in Hitchin in the English county of Hertfordshire. The Priory School is the only co-educational secondary school in Hitchin.
