For building-up the health of nation, the root of it should be made strong. The child - the would be citizen and the mother who are bringing them to earth and rearing them, are the backbone. They require special care. All over the world great stride have been made to MCH care to archive the SDG in the area of maternal and child health. Around 303000 maternal death occurs every year globally (UNICEF, WHO report) 99% of the deaths occurs, in developing countries, India is one of them. Different factors were identified for this problem. Inadequate health facilities and services with inadequate utilization is one of the major factor. Socio cultural factor also have great impact on women's health and well-being. Many of the mothers can not enjoy the beautiful journey of having a baby studies showed, poor knowledge inadequate birth preparedness and lack of complication readiness are major cause of anxiety of the mothers. The non-utilization of health services, lack of knowledge in different aspects of health are studies and survey reports in the field of mother and child health.

Completed general education, joined in nursing in 1976, completed B.Sc (Hons.) nursing from University of Kolkata, M.Sc Nursing (Community Health) from Christian Medical College, Vellore. Worked in W. B. Govt. from 1980-2015. Now worked at SUM Nursing College as Professor and H.O.D throughout working period participated in different projects.
