How far would you go to protect the ones you love?
In the aftermath of a world war over water, geopolitical tensions remain high, and terrorism is a daily fact of life. But a mining base on the moon offers a rare example of international co-operation and a possible solution to the world's energy problems. Yet not everyone on Earth is keen for this endeavour to succeed... Sim Atkins and his wife are desperate to start a family. But a shocking message tells Sim that he is already a father and that his son's life is in danger. Can Sim rescue his son and save his marriage? Meanwhile agents are on the trail of terrorists. What the agents discover in a cargo hold makes Sim's mission even more vital. When they find themselves trapped, Sim's old partner is called out of retirement for one more mission. Once again, corporate greed threatens the lives of millions. And this time, the stakes are far more personal.

David Barker is the author of three Climate Fiction thrillers ¿ the Gaia trilogy ¿ and gives talks on water shortages and climate change. Prior to writing full time, David worked in the city as an economist where his fascination with commodity shortages began. He attended the Faber Academy in 2014 and, more recently, completed a scriptwriting course with the National Writing Centre. When not writing thrillers or scripts, David likes to create stories for younger readers and joined the Society of Children¿s Book Writers and Illustrators in 2018. David participates in Radio Berkshire¿s monthly book show, plays tennis & golf and does amateur dramatics (when theatres are allowed to be open).
